FAQ

Nominations

In 2014, DTKC introduced a new online system to significantly streamline the nomination process and setting up of grids and the transponder system on raceday.  Refer to the home page and documentation for detailed procedures on how to register and then nominate through the new system.  We acknowledge there is some work to set up your profile, but you only have to do it once and then it is done, and it is just a case of nominating for each meeting you wish to race at.

With the new online system, if you have successfully nominated it will appear on the website immediately on the nominations tab – if you can’t see your nomination, reload the page (press the F5 key on your keyboard).  If you still can’t see it, please email noms@dtkc.com.au or secretary@dtkc.com.au for assistance.

The nomination fees will appear automatically when you choose the event you wish to nominate for.  Online payments are now active and you MUST pay at the time you nominate – no payment = incomplete nomination = no racing.

IMPORTANT – IF YOUR NOMINATION IS NOT RECEIVED BEFORE ENTRIES CLOSE
(WHICH IS AUTOMATED THROUGH THE ONLINE SYSTEM)
YOU WILL NOT RACE – NO EXCEPTIONS.

Open Meetings

Nominations for open meetings will be done through the online system the same as club runs.  Please note the closing dates for an Open Meeting may be significantly different to a club run.  The closing date for nominations is published on our “Calendar” page.

Race Day Format:

UNLOADING YOUR GEAR

Please make use of the area behind the canteen for unloading your karts etc. Once this is done please park your car anywhere in the top car park (opposite end of the venue to the pits), do not leave your car and trailer in the canteen area.

PLEASE DO NOT PARK ANYWHERE NEAR THE TOWER ON THE MAIN STRAIGHT – THE AMBULANCE NEEDS CLEAR ACCESS AS THEY ENTER/LEAVE THE TRACK UNDER THE TOWER.

A pit bay map is posted in the under cover area next to the canteen and is also available on the Forms page of the website.  Visiting drivers, please have a look at the map and choose a vacant bay to pit in for the day.

Pit Gates Open: 6.30am

Pit Gates Close: 7.30am to trailers

SCRUTINEERING AND DRIVER/CREW SIGN IN

Scrutineering: 7.15am to 8.15am SHARP and must be done prior to driver signing in.  Scrutineering is usually conducted on the out grid.

Sign In: 7.15am to 8.30am SHARP and can only be done once your kart is scrutineered.  This is done at the shed in the canteen area.

ALL PERSONS ENTERING THE PIT AREA MUST HAVE A DTKC ISSUED ARM BAND FOR THE DAY – NO EXCEPTIONS.  For those family/friends etc that arrive after sign in closes, there will either be someone sitting at the gate selling day insurance, or in the absence of that person, see the people in the canteen who will assist.

Enclosed shoes MUST be worn in the pit area.

BRIEFINGS

Officials Brief: 8.30am SHARP.  Those on duties on the day must be at the track and registered by 8.15am SHARP. This is generally conducted in the undercover area in front of the canteen (near the track fence).

Drivers Brief will be at 9am SHARP.  Drivers not present at the briefing WILL NOT RACE THAT DAY.  The drivers briefing is generally held on the outgrid.

NO ENGINE STARTS ARE PERMITTED UNTIL AFTER THE DRIVERS BRIEF.

RACING

Racing starts between 9.30 and 10am (generally 9.30).  The race order and grids will be posted on the whiteboard at the top end of the outgrid (furthest from the track), either as a print out from QuickGrid or handwritten on the whiteboard.

Once you have placed your kart on the outgrid, please take your trolley to the designated area behind the outgrid.  Please ensure there is a clear path 2 trolleys wide minimum from the back of the outgrid to where you place your trolley.

No trailers are allowed in the pits once the pit gates are locked at 7.30am (with the exception of the pre-approved dealers).

Gates will not re-open for car/trailer entry until all karts have finished racing and the last kart has returned to the pits.

We thank you in advance for your co-operation to assist us in running a smooth race meeting.  If you have any queries about anything please do not hesitate to email secretary@dtkc.com.au

AFTER THE RACING

All competitors, crew and families are invited and encouraged to join us in the undercover area for presentations after the race meeting.  Awards are given to all Rookie drivers and the first 3 placegetters for each class on the day.  A bar is available upon the completion of racing.
